NEW IBERIA ~ A Mass of Christian Burial for Alexander Guidry, Jr., 75, will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, July 18, 2008 at Holy Family Mausoleum Chapel with Deacon Wade Broussard officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visiting hours were observed Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM until the time of service. A native of Youngsville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Guidry died at 10:45 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Guidry retired from Akzo Salt Mine Company in Avery Island where he was employed as an electrician. He was a member of American Legion Post 335. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He is survived by his daughter, Karen G. Smock; sons, Michael James Guidry and Kevin James Guidry; granddaughter, Dayna Lynn Walker; and great-granddaughter, Katelyn Nicole Walker, all of New Iberia. Mr. Guidry was preceded in death by his wife, Lily Viator Guidry; parents, Alexander Guidry, Sr., and Eta Theriot Freyou; sons, Eric and Gabriel Guidry; and step-father, Desire Freyou. Pallbearers will be Kevin James Guidry, Michael James Guidry, Kenneth Dugas, Trevor Romero, Gilbert Migues and Paul Verret.
