Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Kernis Antoine Peltier, Age 78, at 11:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2007, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Loreauville with Father Mario Romero officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum also in Loreauville. He died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at his residence in Loreauville.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, 2007 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a Praying of the Rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume Monday, August 20, 2007 at 8:00 AM until service time.

A native of St. Martin Parish, Mr. Peltier had been a resident of Loreauville most of his life. He worked as manager of Oubre Lumber Company for 50 years. Mr. Kernis loved to hunt, fish, cook and garden. He was co-owner and operator of Aimee's Catering. Mr. Kernis was also on the Levee Board, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Civil Defense. He was a most compassionate and giving person.

Survivors include his wife; the former Aimee Crochet, three daughters; Donna Faye P. Davis and Kathi P. deLaunay both of Loreauville and Gloria P. Champagne and husband Lawrence of Bremen, Georgia, two sisters; Joyce P. Romero of Port Neches, Texas and Lois P. Gothreaux of Iowa, La.,one step cousin-in-law Jack Braquet of Loreauville, 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Mr. Peltier was preceded in death by his parents; Edgar and Emerite Louviere Peltier, a son; Errol James Peltier, his sister; Ann P. Prados, one brother; Allen Peltier and a son-in-law; Don Davis.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Champagne, Kent Bonin, Lane Champagne, Sandy Sonnier, Danny Gothreaux, Gerald Prados, Brent Peltier and Troy Segura. Honorary pallbearers will be David McHugh, Andrew Bonin, Jack Braquet, Irvin Breaux, Joseph Huval, Jerry Pellerin, John Lagan, Loto Louviere, Allen Vaughn, Witley Louviere, Mark Crochet, David Romero and Alvin Tauzin.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Kernis Peltier's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.
