Leona Boyd Darbigny

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Ernest Darbigny, Sr., the former Leona Boyd, age 77, Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette at 11:00AM with Fr. Richard Kalinowski officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 7:00AM until time of service at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Darbigny passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 12:25AM in Maison Teche Nursing Center.

Mrs. Darbigny was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette, Louisiana.

Survivors include her children; Ernest Darbigny, Jr. and wife Hannah of Las Vegas, Neveda; Joseph Darryl Darbigny and wife Mary of St. Martinville and Michael Ricky Darbigny and wife Lelia of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Diana D. Roman of Baton Rouge; brothers, Peter Ollie Olivier and wife Victoria and Paul Rawleigh Olivier and wife Joyce, all of Grand Marais; sisters, Irene B. Orsot and Theresa J. Richard, both of Lake Charles; grandsons, Eric, Nicholas and Jamall Darbigny, of Las Vegas, Neveda; Joey Jack of Baldwin; Jerrell Darbigny of Baldwin; Trevor Darbigny ofAbbeville and Daymond Roman of El Paso, Texas; granddaughters, Paulisha D. Abraham of Jeanerette; Bridgette Darbigny of Baldwin; Rickesha Darbigny of Franklin and Shadell Roman of Oakland,California; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Darbigny was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Darbigny, Sr., her daughter, Vivian Darbigny, her parents, Anthony Boyd and Lorena Labbe Olivier, and one sister, Ivy Marie Boyd.

Pallbearers will be Eric Darbigny, Nicholas Darbigny, Jamall Darbigny, Jerrell Darbigny, Trevor Darbigny, Daymond Roman and Murray Orsot.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Darbigny, Jr., Joseph Darryl Darbigny, Michael Ricky Darbigny, Clifford Olivier, Gerald Boutte, Craig Frilot, Peter Ollie Olivier, Paul Rawleigh Olivier, Emmett Abraham, Andre Richard and Felton Nelson.
