Loving and Devoted Husband, Father and a Beloved Uncle to All His Nieces and Nephews New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Douglas Martin Keith, Age 74, at 2:00PM Tuesday January 13, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Iberia Parish on North Lewis Street with Pastor Pat Wadsworth officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday January 12, 2009 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM and again Tuesday from 8:00AM until time of service. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of the VFW Post 1982. A native of Colver, Pennsylvania and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Keith worked for the U.S. Post Office for 14 years and was a teacher for 18 years. He graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelors Degree in education. He also graduated from Nichols State University with a Masters Degree plus 40 in education. Mr. Keith was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1953 until 1957. He was always an inspiration to all that knew him because of his courageous battle with multiple illnesses. He was always full of life. Survivors include his wife; Velma Fermental Keith of New Iberia, one son; Russell Paul Keith of New Iberia, one daughter Nancy Ann Miller and husband Steve of Palm Bay, Florida, one sister; Mary Jane Guimond of Auburn, New Hampshire, one brother; Dennis K. Keith of Youngstown, Ohio and his two grand dogs; Jeaux Jeaux and Rosceaux. He was preceded in death by his parents; Daniel and Mary Jane Williams Keith, three sisters; Nathalia N. Fero, Ardith M. Gayge and Beverly R. Luther, three brothers Daniel A., Jim T. and John L. Keith. Pallbearers will be Russell Keith, Steven Miller, Kris Wotipka, David Guidry, Keith Pellerin and Pat Breaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris and Paul Morvant. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St., New Iberia, La. (337)369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
