Lionel Peter Dupuy

April 23, 1923 — July 19, 2008

Loving father and grandfather NEW IBERIA ~ Services for Lionel Peter Dupuy, 85, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2008 at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roland Fontenot officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Friday, July 25, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 8:00 AM until the time of service at Davids Funeral Home. A native of New Iberia, and a Peninsula resident since 2001, Mr. Dupuy died Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Virginia. Lionel was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was an active member of Seaford Baptist Church, and was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church in New Iberia. He was a loving father and grandfather, and he will be sorely missed. Lionel was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elaine Jenkins Dupuy; and parents, James Lawrence and Antoinette Hugonin Dupuy. He is survived by his son, Richard Rick Dupuy and wife Joan of Seaford; Virginia; a brother Raymond Dupuy and wife Betty of Shreveport; three grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew and wife Melissa, and Jennifer Dupuy; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Ann Dupuy.
