Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Stephen Goodeaux the former Lora Spears, 58, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at St. Annes Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette beginning at 9:00AM until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Goodeaux a native of Lake Charles and a resident of Broussard died at 4:20PM on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Baton Rouge, LA. She was a devoted catholic, loving wife and mother, and an excellent grandmother who was very involved in community service. She was a professor at USL, which is now UL of Lafayette for the past 29 years, and holds a doctorate in Reproductive Physiology from LSU. She is survived by her husband, Stephen D. Goodeaux of Broussard; her father, David Spears of Lake Charles; three daughters, Errin and her husband Phillip Hebert of Broussard, JoDee Goodeaux of Shreveport, and Shelly Goodeaux of Broussard; a brother, David Spears of Lake Charles; a sister, Betty Schrader of Lake Charles; and four grandchildren, Alexis, Ross, Payten, and Chloe Hebert all of Broussard. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lora Margaret Roth Spears. Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Spears, Dennis Spears, Kelly Clark, Chris Clark, Lynn Efferson, and Ned Goodeaux.
