Loreauville " Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Louis P. Judice on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Readers for the mass was Lynn Calles and Jeff Mestayer. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites performed by V. F. W. Post 1982 of New Iberia.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resumed on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary was prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM.
A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mr. Judice died on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 3:04 PM in a Lafayette hospital. He was a retired sugar cane farmer. He served on the Board of Directors of LaSalette Hospital in Loreauville and also was a Loan Commissioner of the Farmers Home Administration (FHA) County Committee. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Sigsbee which was hit by a Japanese suicide plane while he was on board.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Comeaux Judice of Loreauville; his sons, Jackie Judice and his fiancee Mary Watson, Ricky Judice and his wife Renee all of Loreauville; his daughters, Marguerite Mestayer and her husband Forbus of Houston, TX, Connie Louviere and her husband Larry, Cindy Guidry and her husband Glenn all of Loreauville; his step-daughter, Lynn Calles and her husband Jose of Lake Charles; his step-son, Randy Comeaux of Boise, Idaho; his sister, Theresa Judice Viator of Loreauville; 22 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Elbay Bernard Judice; his step-son, Al Comeaux; his parents, Octave and Theresa Dugas Judice; his brothers, Octave, Jr., Roland, Walter and Gustave Judice; and his sisters, Gertrude and Odette Judice and Lois Lasseigne.
Pallbearers were Chad Judice, Scott Mestayer, Jason Judice, Mark Judice, Brent Louviere and Ben Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers were Todd Judice, Clint Judice, Ryan Judice, Nathan Judice, Jeremy Louviere, Sam Guidry and Jose Calles, Jr.
