New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Eva Mary Jones, Age 96, at 10:00AM Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 2008 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 8:00AM until service time. She died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 3:52 AM in a New Iberia Hospital. A native and resident of New Iberia Eva was co-owner of E&E liquor store for many years. She enjoyed bowling, walking and dancing. She also was cafeteria supervisor at Live Oak elementary school for 10 years. Survivors include nephews, David Broussard of Morgan City, Raymond Elias, Victor Elias, Jr., Richard Jones, George Betar, Jr. and John Betar all of New Iberia; nieces, Marie Adele Betar Miles and her husband Wilbur of New Iberia, Josette Broussard Touchett of Youngsville, Theresa Merrill of Houston, Texas and Joan Broussard of Carencro and also surviving grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Sophie KaFoure Jones; brothers,Joe, Johnny and Edward Rareback Jones; sisters, Najabe Foster, Adele Gabriel, Edna Betar, Alice Elias, Relma Betar and Josie Broussard; one nephew, Marion J. Broussard, Jr. Special Thanks to her caregivers, Ella Mae Simpson and Winnie Dupree and to Dr. Doug Sagrera for his compassionate care. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
