Jeanerette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Dudley P. Viator the former Girlie Delcambre, 88, will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Monday, August 25, 2008 beginning at 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. John Mausoleum. A Native of Jeanerette and a resident of Lafayette Mrs. Viator died at 8:03AM on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Rosewood Assisted Living. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and her cat Spot . She is survived by four sons, Calvin P. Viator and his wife Jeanie of Thibodeaux, Ray J. Viator and his wife Dixie of Youngsville, Daniel P. Viator and his wife Mary of Youngsville, Richard J. Viator and his wife Judith of Youngsville; a daughter Deanna V. Matherne and her husband Hulin of Gretna; two brothers, Paul Delcambre of Mississippi and Herbert Delcambre of California; two sisters, Willa Mae D. Ledbetter of Pennsylvania and Bernice D. Brown of Texas; seventeen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dudley P. Viator; her parents, Joseph and Ovelia Dore Delcambre; a brother, Francis Delcambre; a sister, Florence D. Wiltz, and two grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin, Ray, Daniel, Richard, and Van Viator, and Hulin Matherne. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Paul Delcambre. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette at 400 Provost St. (337)276-5151 will be handling the arrangements.
