Roberta Borel Winter

Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 11:00 AM until the time of service Thursday, August 21, 2008. David Funeral Home will remain open all night.

A native of St. Mary Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Winter died at 1:02 AM Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at her residence.

Roberta enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, fishing, going to garage sales and being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, James W. Winter of New Iberia; children, Richard Horton, Jr. and wife Christy of Loreauville, Katie May Smith and husband Theodore of St. Martinville, Penny Ann Horton of New Iberia, Angela Marie Tauzin and husband Keith Tauzin, Sr. of Loreauville, Pamela Sue Vicknair and husband Terry John of St. Martinville, Terrie Lynn Bourque and husband Thomas Ras of Youngsville, Rhonda Hayes and husband Larry of St. Martinville, and Sonia Hernandez of Rosedale, California; 27 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Prince of Jeanerette; and brothers, Art Borel of Little Rock, Arkansas, Doug Borel of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Shelton Borel of Kaplan.

Mrs. Winter was preceded in death by her sons, Darren Dean Horton, Sr. and Baby Boy Sidney Horton; parents, Sidney Borel, Sr. and Lucille Landry Borel; and brothers, Lovelace and Sidney Borel, Jr.

Pallbearers will be James Winter, Richard Horton, Jr., Darren Dean Horton, Jr., Art Borel, Doug Borel and Daryll Prince.

Honorary pallbearer will be Shelton Borel.
