Claudia Judice Sonnier

NEW IBERIA ~ A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Felix Sonnier, the former Claudia Judice, 91, will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:30 PM at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 8:00 AM until the time of service.
A native of Loreauville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Sonnier died at 9:38 PM Monday, August 18, 2008, at her Garden View Assisted Living residence.
Claudia was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, St. Anns Altar Society, Busy Bees Homemakers, Chapter 1194 N.A.R.F.E. and VFW Ladies Auxillary.
She is survived by her sister, Eula Darby of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sonnier was preceded in death by her husbands, Alcee Romero (World War II veteran) and Felix Sonnier; parents, Charles and Elizabeth Henry Judice; brothers, Antoine, Euphis, Enoe and Dumas Judice; and sisters, Maria Leleux, Anne Hebert, Stenie Weaver and Delia (Sister Dympna R.S.M.).
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Sonniers name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503 and/or a charity of ones choice.
David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street (337) 369-6336, is in charge of the arrangements.
