Beloved Brother & Uncle Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Floyd Francis Oppenheimer, 79, on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Patoutville Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 at 8:30 AM until services. A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Oppenheimer died on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at 2:45 AM in a Lafayette hospital. He was a Researcher and Lab Technician for 30 years at UCLA and Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He loved Square Dancing and listening to Classical Music. He is survived by his sister, Enez Addicott of Jeanerette; his brother, Paul Oppenheimer and his wife Athalie of Lafayette; 15 nieces and nephews;various cousins; a step-daughter; a step-son; 2 step grandchildren and 1 step-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Burnett Oppenheimer; his parents, Albert and Mabel Nelson Oppenheimer; his brother, Joseph Allen Oppenheimer and his sisters, Regina Ochoa and Ruth Ann Pratt. Pallbearers will be Paul D. Oppenheimer, Sr., Michael Pratt, Sr., Joshua P. Jolivette, Brian Jolivette, Paul D. Oppenheimer, III and Robert Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul D. Oppenheimer, Sr., Joseph R. Oppenheimer, Ambrose Pratt, III and Adrian Ochoa. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337) 276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
