NEW IBERIA ~ A Mass of Christian Burial for Howard Thib S. Thibodeaux, 89, will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Arnaud officiating. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 9:00 AM until the time of service with a rosary being recited at 11:00 AM at David Funeral Home. A native and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 7:05 PM Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Dauterive Hospital. Thib was a World War II Navy Veteran. He retired from C.E. Natco after 25 years of service, co-owner of Surface Equipment Company, and owner of Thibodeaux Mobil Home Park. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle and gardening. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Thibodeaux and wife Dolores Migues of New Iberia; sister, Una Lasseigne of New Iberia; grandchildren, Bryan Thibodeaux of New Iberia, Donna Olmstead and husband Jeff of California, Shari Dressel and husband Terry of Broussard, and Kasey Thibodeaux and wife Kami of New Iberia; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Fremin Thibodeaux; parents, Albert and Celina Segura Thibodeaux; sisters, Ethel Trimble and Hilda T. Desormeaux; and brothers, Harold and ONeil Thibodeaux. Pallbearers will be Kasey Thibodeaux, Terry Dressel, Eugene Migues, Larry Migues, John Paul Fremin and Irving Lasseigne. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Thibodeaux, Ulysse Lopez and Nolan Bourque. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Thibodeauxs name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.
