Moise Louviere

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mr. Louviere passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 5:46 A.M. in his Loreauville residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Moise was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hardworking man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Moise worked for Breauxs Bay Craft as a painter for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army, fighting in Europe during World War II from 1944 until 1945. Moise loved horseback riding and working with a local food catering service. He was a devoted Catholic, serving as an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years , Martha Broussard Louviere of Loreauville; brothers, Junius Louviere and wife, Emily of Loreauville, Ury Louviere and wife, Elaine of Loreauville, and Jerry Louviere of New Iberia; sister, Joyce Albert and husband, Cleveland of Loreauville; grandsons, Terry Theriot, Barry Theriot, and Shane Theriot and wife, Dr. Jeanne Theriot, all of Parks, Harold Key-Key Louviere, Jr. and wife, Debra, Vernon T-Vern Louviere, Jr., and Travis Louviere and iwfe, Ida, all of Loreauville; granddaughters, Bridget Theriot Clause and husband, Kevin of Parks and Penny Louviere Pelous of Breaux Bridge; great-grandchildren, Cody Theriot of New Iberia, Keely Theriot, Kwinn Theriot, Jonah Theriot, Zachary Theriot, Kaleb Theriot, and Laik Clause, all of Parks, Katie T. Christensen and husband, Justin of Lafayette, Natalie Louviere, Nicholas Louviere, and Peyton Louviere, all of Loreauville; Jake Pelous of Breaux Bridge, and Jaylen Lassigne of St. Martinville; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Christensen of Lafayette; daughter-in-law, Louella Louviere of Loreauville; and son-in-law, Laurent Theriot and wife, Linda of Parks.

Preceding Mr. Louviere in death were his parents, John and Josephine Melancon Louviere; sons, Harold Hadacol Louviere, Sr. and Vernon T-Red Louviere, Sr.; daughter, Jeanette Louviere Theriot; brothers, Lloyd Louviere, Claude Louviere, Fernis Louviere, Clarence Louviere, and Collins Louviere; sister, Yolande Louviere Viator; and grandson, Carl T-Carl Theriot.

Scriptural readings will be delivered by Roxie LeBlanc-Derouen and Natalie Louviere.

Serving as pallbearers are Harold Key-Key Louviere, Jr., Terry Theriot, Barry Theriot, Shane Theriot, Kwinn Theriot, and Kevin Clause. Named as honorary pallbearers are Ury Louviere, Jerry Louviere, Junius Louviere, Laurent Theriot, Willie Carbo, Carol Blanchard, and Don Louviere.
