Youngsville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Sidney P. Langlinais, the former Della Menard, 83, will be held at St. Annes Catholic Church in Youngsville on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:00AM. Father Keith Landry will be officiating. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 2:00PM until 10:00PM, with a rosary being recited at 7:00PM and will resume on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 8:00AM until services. Interment will follow at St. Annes Cemetery.
A native and resident of Youngsville, Della passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Camelot of Broussard after a lengthy illness.
Della was a graduate of Youngsville High School and for the past two years, she resided at Camelot of Broussard.
She is survived by her son, Charles Anthony Langlinais of Youngsville; her daughters, Kathleen L. Cart and husband, Michael of Youngsville, Rebecca L. Gondron and husband, James of Broussard, and June Elizabeth L. Reed of Baton Rouge; her sister, Eula M. Trahan of Youngsville; her grandsons, Phillip S. Cart of Youngsville and Jeremy Langlinais of Lafayette; her granddaughters, Anne-Marie Cart of Youngsville, Penny L. Oubre and husband, Aaron of Youngsville, Megan Langlinais of Lafayette, Chelsey Langlinais of Youngsville, Olivia Reed and Hanna Reed of Baton Rouge; one great-grandson, Tanner Langlinais of Lafayette; her great-granddaughters, Ashlyn and Brenna Oubre of Youngsville; daughter-in-law, Wanda L. May; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolze and Clarice Melancon Menard; her husband, Sidney Phillip Langlinais; one son, Phillip Ray Langlinais; her brothers, Roy Jack Menard and Lovelace Bee Menard; and her sisters, Nellie M. Langlinais and Eunice M. Tabb.
Pallbearers will be Charles Langlinais, Phillip Cart, Jeremy Langlinais, Aaron Oubre, Kirk Coussan, and Chris Causey. The Langlinais family would like to extend its gratitude to all of her doctors and the special people who cared for her on numerous occasions at Lafayette General Hospital, and most recently the nurses and assistants at Camelot of Broussard, and to Bobbi, her nurse from Journey Hospice for her exceptional care and compassion. A very special Thank You is also extended to Ramona Wisby, our adopted sister from Abbeville and Vicki LaLande of Youngsville, whose loving hands helped Mom through difficult times while she was still living in her home.
