Clifton Joseph Schaubert, Sr.

New Iberia"Funeral services for Mr. Clifton Joseph Schaubert, Sr., 79, will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Degeyter will officiate. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Schaubert passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10:10 P.M. in an Abbeville hospital. A native and lifelong resident of the Iberia Parish area, Mr. Schaubert was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business for many years. Among others, he worked for Cleve Frederick and Sons and for Kingston Construction Company. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing to Cajun French music. His greatest joy in life, however, was visiting with his family and friends. Survivors include his sons, Clifton Joseph Schaubert, Jr. of Erath and Nolan Joseph Schaubert and wife, Carmen of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Cody and Beau Schaubert of Tampa, FL, and Linda Latiolais, Lee James Schaubert, Nathan Schaubert, and Justin Schaubert, all of Delcambre; sisters, Lydia Schaubert Migues and Grace Schaubert Vincent and husband, Wesley, all of New Iberia; brother, Gilbert Johnny Schaubert and wife, Corida of New Iberia; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mr. Schaubert in death were his wife, Agnes Navarre Schaubert; parents, Sydney P. Schaubert, Sr. and Gabrielle Rogers Schaubert; brothers, Ralph Schaubert, Sr., E.G. Schaubert, Whitney Schaubert, and Sydney Schaubert , Jr.; and sisters, Florence Schaubert Menard and Inez Schaubert Delahoussaye. Serving as pallbearers are members of Mr. Schauberts family. David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
