New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Marvin G. Wellbrock, 82, on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Steve LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at 9:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home by Knights of Columbus Council 11792 at 7:00 PM.
A native of Victoria, KS and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Wellbrock died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at 11:20 AM in a New Iberia hospital. He was employed at Ashland Chemical for 25 years. He was a member of the Woodman of the World Camp 34, Knights of Columbus Council 11792, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Msgr. Langlois Assembly and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church where he served in the ushers society for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, playing dominos and working bingos for the Woodmen of the World. His outdoor activities included an annual pheasant hunting trip to Kansas and the annual shrimping season in Vermilion Bay.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Doris Rajewski Wellbrock of New Iberia; his children, Bryan Wellbrock and his wife Dottie of Burlison, TN; JoAnn Bollig and her husband Robert of Fairfax Station, VA; Roger Wellbrock and his wife Janet of Coteau; Marna Carlson and her husband David; Gary Wellbrock and his wife Vickie all of New Iberia; Martin Tom Wellbrock and his wife Maggie of Duson; Wanda Begnaud and her husband Keith of Abbeville; Chad Wellbrock of Atlanta, GA and Chris Wellbrock of Bayou Jack; his sisters, Viola Repshire of Oakley, KS and Mildred Wellbrock of Victoria, KS and his brother, Clarence Pete Wellbrock of Victoria, KS. Marvin was the 13th of 14 siblings. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Wellbrock and Catherine Berens Wellbrock; 10 brothers and sisters and one granddaughter, Crystal Begnaud.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Bryan, Roger, Gary, Martin Tom , Chad and Chris Wellbrock.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Randall, Cory and Carl Bollig, Timothy Carlson, Jason, Dexter, Nicholas and Tyler Wellbrock.
