NEW IBERIA " A Mass of Christian Burial for Harvey James Boutte, Sr., 57, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday, September 3, 2007 at David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.

Visiting hours will be observed Sunday, September 2, 2007 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited by Deacon Jimmy Wilson at 6:00 PM at David Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will resume Monday, September 3, 2007 from 8:00 AM until the time of services.

A native of New Iberia, a former resident of New Iberia, and a resident of Cecilia, Mr. Boutte died at 7:45 PM Thursday, August 30, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Boutte was a mechanic and was always willing to help everyone. While working as a mechanic at a truck stop, he enjoyed talking on his CB and his handle was Green Herring.

He is survived by his mother, Edith Meyers Latiolais of Cecilia; daughter, Deanna Boutte of Lafayette; son, Harvey Boutte Jr. of New Iberia; sisters, Barbara Daigle of Cecila, and Patricia Landry of Arnaudville; brothers, Lawrence Boutte of Cecilia, Donald J. Boutte of Lovelady, Texas, and Robert Boutte of Cecilia; sisters, Kathleen Hayes and Carolyn Venable, both of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Boutte was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Boutte; son, Scotty Boutte; and a sister, Ramona Boutte.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Melancon, Lawrence Lamson, Robert Boutte Sr., Harvey Boutte Jr., Nicholas Fitch and Rodney Guidry.

Honorary pallbearer will be Lawrence Boutte.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to help defer funeral expenses.
