New Iberia-Funeral services for Doris Paul Dartez -87, will conducted at 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr.Charles Langlois, Officiating Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum, with military graveside services by V.F.W. post 1982 Honor Guard. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday November 4, 2008 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm , reopen Wednesday November 5, 2008 at 8:00 am until services. With a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday November 4, 2008. A native of Iberia Parish and a residence of New Iberia, Mr.Dartez died at 3:46 pm Sunday November 2, 2008 at a New Iberia Hospital. Mr.Dartez was a member of the American Legion Post #335 and the VFW Post #1982 in New Iberia. He was a member of the VFW Honor Guard, member of the WOW Camp #34,Shell Retirement Club . He received 4 Silver Stars in WW11 in the Pacific Campaign. He is survived by his wife: Bertha LeBlanc Dartez of New Iberia, Sons, Rodney Paul Dartez and his wife Dawn Racca of New Orleans, Steve Joseph Dartez and his wife Chiara Benedetti of Haughton, LA- Brother, Lloyd Paul Dartez and New Iberia ,Sisters, Bertha D. Breaux and Anna Mae D. Judice of New Iberia. 6- Grandchildren, Shawn , Matthew , Andrew Dartez , Jeremy , Darian Dartez , Destin Duhon , 1-Great Grandchild,Jackson Dartez. Mr. Dartez was preceded in death by his father Anatole Dartez: mother Clara Hebert Dartez , 4- Brothers, Neville Stan Dartez , Nelton Dartez , Roy Dartez , Johnny Dartez. Pallbearers will be: Shawn Dartez, Andrew Dartez, Matthew Dartez, Jeremy Dartez, Destin Duhon, Darian Dartez. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Bryan Judice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Doris name to St. Jude Hospital. David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street (337)369-6336, is in charge of the arrangements.
