Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Daniel C. Dan Mestayer the former Mary Ann Lapeze, Age 92, at 11:00AM Wednesday October 8, 2008 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday October 7, 2008 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Riddle, Louisiana and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Mestayer was a teacher for many years at Mt. Carmel, Weeks Island and Dodson Schools. She was a National Senior Olympic Medalist. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and painting. She always enjoyed being with her family. The family would like to especially thank Louisiana Hospice and Pallative Care, LeAnn Krazter and Earleen LeBlanc. Survivors include her children; Francis Mestayer and wife Judy of Baton Rouge, James Mestayer and wife Mona of Abbeville, Daniel C. Mestayer Jr. and wife Judee of Indialantic, Florida and Mary Lee Krielow and husband William of Roanoke, Louisiana, sister-in-laws; JoAnn Mestayer of New Iberia and Tullie Ferney of Lafayette, brother-in-law; Van Mestayer and wife Barbara of Jeanerette, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Daniel C. Dan Mestayer Sr., parents; J.W. and Martha Riddle Lapeze, one brother J.W. Lapeze, Jr. and one sister Elroy L. Marion. Pallbearers will be David Johnson, Mike, Mark, Trent and Robert Mestayer and Keith Meaux. Honorary pallbearers are Van Mestayer and Charlie Williams.
