Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Moore passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in Broussard as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A native of Blackfoot, ID, Mr. Moore relocated to Louisiana while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He had worked at his father-in-laws business, Davis Delcambre Motors, and was owner/operator of Waynes Alignment Service. He also did volunteer work at the Iberia Parish Courthouse.
In his younger days, Mr. Moore enjoyed hunting, and he more recently enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandchildren. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he would shop at garage sales to find treasures to fix up for them. Mr. Moore claimed to be a Converted Cajun , and he was known to enjoy his Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Lester Moore of New Iberia; his former wife, Elva Marie Davis Moore of New Iberia; sons, Wayne D. Danny Moore, Jr. and wife, Melodie of New Iberia, Steven Stevie Moore and wife, Catherine of New Iberia, Charles Chuck Moore and wife, Theresa of New Iberia, Craig Nowell and wife, Chris of Loreauville, Paul Nowell and wife, Robin of New Iberia, Patrick Moore and wife, Michelle of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Chris Moore and wife, Teresa of Broussard; daughters, Terry Hays and husband, Phillip Emil of New Iberia and Janet Broussard of Delcambre; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Still and wife, Joy of Sutherlin, OR and Thomas Moore and wife, Darla of Wellsville, UT; sisters, Edna Dunn of Blackfoot, ID, Arlene Sill of Shingle Springs, CA, Marjorie Adams and husband, Robert of Blackfoot, ID, Colleen Wilson of Blackfoot, ID, and Lucy Bedwell of Nampa, ID; and sisters-in-law, Mrs. Henry (Alice) Moore of Poncatello, ID and Mrs. Ernest (Alice) Moore of Tucson, AZ.
Preceding Mr. Moore in death were his parents, Raymond William Moore, Sr. and Gladys Hadden Moore; son, Michael Mikey Moore; and brothers, Henry and Ernest Moore.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Mr. Moores sons and grandsons.
