New Iberia " Memorial services will be conducted for Donald B. Leather, 73, on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at 2:30 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roland Fontenot officiating. A gathering of the family will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 until the services. A native of London, England, Mr. Leather died on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at 5:04 PM in a New Iberia hospital. He was an electrical engineer, worked and retired from Domtar. He served in the British Army. He loved woodworking, gardening, horseback riding, reading and archery. He also loved western movies and jazz music. He is survived by his wife, Steve Robinson Leather of New Iberia; his children, Donna Echols and her husband John, Dean Leather and his wife Judith all of Houston, TX, Danielle Leather of Canada and Brett Leather of Colorado Springs, CO; his sisters, Eleanor Nabbs of Lufkin, TX, Jean Perkins of Hampshire, England and Thelma Smith of West Suxxes, England and 6 granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Leather and Eleanor Doris May Kinchella Leather and his brother George Leather David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter St. (337) 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
