Mr. Al as he was known to all the local people was born on Weeks Island July 12, 1922. After growing up on the Island he worked in the ship yards in Morgan City. He then joined the U.S. Navy Seabees and proudly served his country in the Marshall Islands, Kwajalein and Tarawa during WWII. Upon returning from overseas he worked at Myles Salt Co. until he had an accident in which he lost a leg. Afterward he worked for Morton Chemical until his retirement. He loved his family foremost and baseball. Mr. Al was instrumental in forming the Cajun Little League in the Lydia area. He worked with the Sheriffs league and American Legion teams. He tirelessly tended to the concession stands and pretty much ran the ball park for many years always having a can do attitude. In his years of retirement he also was very active in and was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion and the Navy Seabees organizations and for all this we thank you Mr. Al .
Special thanks to our friends Rita, Donna and Debra who have helped to keep Mr. Al comfortable during the end of his great life. He was truly a great man.
