Lafayette - A Celebration of Life Service for Donald Donnie Allen Romero, 37, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 16, 2009 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Pastor Marshall Clotiaux and Dr. Jeffery L. Cook officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and will resume on Friday from 8:00AM until service time. He will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery. Donnie was employed with Macro Companies & Environmental Specialties. He was previously the owner-operator of DRT " Donnie Romero Transport. He was a former member of the Broussard Volunteer Fire Department. Donnie loved 18-wheelers and was not ashamed to share his faith with other truckers he met in his travels. He was gentle and caring and touched the lives of all he came in contact with. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer J. Romero of Lafayette; his parents, Raymond and Margaret McGee Romero of Youngsville; his sister, Cynthia R. Romero and husband Bryan of Youngsville; his brother, Carl R. Romero and wife Krista K. of Youngsville; his three nephews, Coty and wife Lesley, Shawn and Jared Romero; his great-niece, Elizabeth Lizzie Romero; his beloved yorkies, J.P., Sadie and Gracie; and several other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph C. and Eunice Gautier McGee; and his paternal grandparents, Sylvester Pierre and Dorita Bourque Romero. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Romero, Coty Romero, Shawn Romero, Jared Romero, Scotty Brasseaux, Blair Rivette and Chuck Watkins.
