Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joseph Howard Broussard, Age 68, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, LA on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Father William Gearheard will be officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:15 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 8:00 AM until services. Internment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
A native and a resident of Youngsville, LA, Mr. Broussard passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 2:00 AM at his residence.
Howard was in sales at Smith International for over 20 years. He enjoyed duck call making, loved to cook for his family and friends, and had the ability to make people feel like family. The true loves of his life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Lucie Derrick Broussard; daughter, Jeanne L. Hebert and her husband Paul of Lafayette; son, Jeffery S. Goddard and his wife Michele of Webb City, MO.; six grandchildren, Brittany L. Hebert, Hunter S. Hebert, Derrick L. Gosch, Joshua S. Goddard, Abbie Kate Goddard, and J. Elijah Goddard; one great-granddaughter, Imogen L. Hebert.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ophe and Theosie Duhon Broussard.
Mr. Broussards family would like to thank Dr. Robin Barry, Dr. Michael Cane, Madge, Sara, Miriam, and Allison Lightfoot.
Pallbearers will be Paul Hebert, Hunter Hebert, Jeff Goddard, Lee Derrick, Tommy Whittington, and Randy Menard.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway (337) 837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
