Lafayette " Funeral services for Mr. Desire Trahan, age 72, who passed away on September 30, 2007 at Lafayette Memorial Medical Center at 7:30AM will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 10:00AM in David Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday October 4, 2007 from 10:00AM to 10:00PM and will resume on Friday October 5, 2007 at 8:00AM to service time. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 7:00PM with Deacon Cody Miller . The Rev. Tom Lambert will be officiating, with interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice.

Mr. Trahan was a native of Youngsville and a resident of Lafayette. Mr. Trahan was self-employed as a Dry-Wall Contractor for many years.

Survivors include sons; Kendall Trahan of Lafayette, Timothy Trahan and his wife Shawn of Youngsville and Scotty M. Trahan of Pearland, Texas; daughters, Karrie Trahan of Coteau, Patty Lane Fontenot of New Iberia, Wanda Kay Trahan Knight and her husband Jeffery of Breaux Bridge and Shannon Dawn Trahan Romero and her husband Russell Paul, Sr. of Iowa. Mr. Trahan is also survived by his companion of 16 years, Jeanette Laviolette of Youngsville; her son Troy Laviolette and his wife Kelly of Cathoula; one brother Wilton Trahan of Lafayette; one sister Nita Benoit of Duson; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Trahan was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Rita Mouton Trahan; his spouse, Betty Lou Ann Clark; a brother Henry Trahan and a sister Dorothy Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Cody Berzes, Jeremy Trahan, Michael Todd Fontenot, II, Timothy Ryan Trahan, Dustin Michael Knight and Russell Paul Romero, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Joshua James Trahan.
