Gerald Myers

June 21, 1925 — January 8, 2010

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Gerald McGee Myers, Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:00AM at David Funeral Home in Jeanerette with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 10, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with V.F.W. Post 1982 Rites at 6:00PM and a recitation of the Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Myers passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 at 6:10AM in a local health care facility. Mr. Myers was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years and was the Deputy City Clerk for Jeanerette for 18 years. He was also a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. Post 1982 and Knights of Colombus Council 1428. Mr. Myers was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. His favorite past times included playing guitarand listening to music.

Survivors include his son, Bradley Myers and wife Cathy of Lydia; his daughter, Cynthia M. Sedotal of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Bert Grace of Jeanerette; Greg Myers and wife Candice and Abbie Hebert and husband Craig, his great-grandchildren, Ava and Reagan Myers and Elise Hebert, all of Lydia; brothers, Curtis Myers and wife Mazie of New Iberia; and Nathan Myers and wife Nell of Jeanerette.

Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Armentor Myers, a son, Reed James Myers, his parents, Noe and Aline Kern Myers, brothers, Irvin Myers and Maxim Myers and a sister, Loretta Moretti.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends of Mr. Myers.
