New Iberia " A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Harry Francis Landry, Sr., the former Rita Dugas, 87, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Ruben Primor officiating. Mrs. Landry, a native of Avery Island, and a resident of New Iberia, passed away at 12:55AM on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at a local New Iberia health care center. Mrs. Landry was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with and taking care of her family and friends. Thus in the end, in the spirit of giving, Mrs. Landry chose to donate her body to science so that through the medical school she might once again help someone. Mrs. Landry will always be remembered for her gentle and kind spirit, always there and willing to help out her family, friends, and others. Mrs. Landry also loved traveling, dancing, and taught catechism at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She is survived by three sons, Rodney W. Landry of Lafayette, Jerry J. Landry and his wife Susan of New Iberia, and Harry F. Landry, Jr. and his wife Debra of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Rebecca L. Pye and her husband Mark of Kingwood, Tx., and Harriet L. Broussard and her husband Dean of New Iberia; one sister, Emily D. Dorgan of Lafayette; then grandchildren, Micky, Clint, Meghan, Julie, Jan, Jason, Justin, Mindy, Jeremy, and Kelli; two great grandchildren, Alexia Broussard and Shaynie Landry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Francis Landry, Sr.; her parents, Ovide Dugas and Edmae Melancon Dugas; three sisters, Carmen Pete, Veronica Dugas, and Laura Carrol; and two brothers, Ned Dugas and Leopold Polo Dugas.
