Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Robert A. Schexnayder , Sr. the former Emily Borel, Age 83, at 1:30PM Wednesday December 9, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Musical Selections will be sung by Izzie Borel Bourque. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday December 8, 2009 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM by Mr. Marvin Ga Hebert. Visitation will resume Wednesday December 9, 2009 from 8:00AM until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette Mrs. Schexnayder died Sunday December 6, 2009 at 6:40AM at New Iberia Manor South Nursing Home. Miss Emily was known for always being well dressed and her good taste for nice clothing, she loved to dress up. She made sure her children were always well dressed also. After working with her husband, Robert Schexnayder Sr., in the grocery business, She spent 25 years as a sales clerk in the clothing industry and loved coordinating outfits for her customers. She very much enjoyed socializing, especially going dancing. Earlier in her years, she enjoyed cooking a meal every Thursday and invited her kids and others who were lucky enough to enjoy her good cooking. In the last few years, Miss Emily looked forward to spending each Sunday at one of her childrens houses, having a good meal there and visiting with her children and grandchildren, while telling many stories of her past from growing up to rearing her children. She had many stories of days spent with her sisters and nieces from Jeanerette and Texas sewing, vacationing, dancing and having good ole fashion fun together. She was very proud of her children, her sisters, her brothers and she was especially proud of her home. Miss Emily really enjoyed life. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. Survivors include one daughter, Janis S. Fremin and husband Kenneth of New Iberia; three sons, Robert Bobby Schexnayder Sr. Jr., Rodney Schexnayder and wife Ginger and Brian Schexnayder and wife Shelly all of Jeanerette; two sisters, Mary Alice Foco of Lafayette and Linda Hebert of Jeanerette; two brothers Harold Borel of New Iberia and Emus Borel of Loreauville; grandchildren Paul Cyr, Jr., Laurie Bonin, Katie Boudreaux, Robbie Schexnayder, Raven Schexnayder, Megan Suire and Taryn Schexnayder and great grandchildren, Tyler, Conner, Emma Claire and Abagail Bonin and Gage Michael Boudreaux. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Schexnayder,Sr.; parents, James and Inez Perez Borel and a sister, Geneva Borel. Pallbearers will be Rodney and Brian Schexnayder, Robert Schexnayder Jr., Robert Schexnayder III, Paul Cyr, Kenneth Fremin and Harold Borel and Randy Foco.
