Loreauville " Funeral Services will be conducted for Porteus J. P.J. Meyers, Age 83, at 10:00AM Saturday November 15, 2008 at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 14, 2008 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time. He died Thursday November 13, 2008 at 7:55AM in a local hospital. A native and resident of New Iberia P.J. is survived by two sisters; Irene M. Landry and Gernice M. Dore and husband L.J. Nook all of New Iberia along with a host of nieces and nephews and the people that were his friends. He had really a lot of good friends and four of the best neighbors God could give a man, Jennie and Sid Richard, Karen and Danny Faucheaux and Cindy and Kevin, Angela Wirick and John Chapman, his special friend Bertha Tenney and his friends at Popeyes. They are the best! He leaves behind his beloved little family, Lexi Dixon his Godchild, Judy, Gary, Jenny, Corey, Allison, Courtney and Abbigail Broussard. P.J. was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Elder Broussard Meyers, his parents, Tartule and Marie Ardeneaux Meyers, brothers, Herbert, Adam G. and Murphy P. Meyers, Sr., sisters Emerine M. Nugent and Rita M. Hall. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Gabriel Landry, Jr., Daniel Dore, Corey Broussard, Gary Broussard, Phil Thibodeaux and Joseph Meyers.
