Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Curlis J. Langlinais, 77, will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Herb Bennerfeld officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath starting on Monday, November 23, 2009 beginning at 11:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary by the Catholic Daughters at 5:00PM and by the Knights of Columbus at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 8:00AM until the time of his service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native and resident of Erath, Curlis passed away at 3:30PM on Friday, November 20, 2009 at a local Abbeville health care facility. Mr. Langlinais was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who dearly loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3872 of Erath, a member of the Holy Name Society, was a board member of Vermilion Parish Soil and Water Conservation District , Vermilion Farm Bureau Board Member, and a member of the Vermilion Cattleman Association. Mr. Langlinais was a retired rice and cattle farmer and a crawfish farmer. He is survived by four sons, Tony Langlinais and his wife Saretta of Abbeville, Kevin Langlinais and his wife Sonya of Kaplan, Jerome Langlinais and his wife Denise of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Randall Langlinais and his wife Christy of Abbeville; a daughter, Nelwyn L. Soirez and her husband Michael of Abbeville; sixteen grandchildren, Jeric Langlinais, Paden Langlinais and his wife Amberly of Erath, Angelle Langlinais, Ami Langlinais, Ava Langlinais, Jeremy Soirez and his wife Dr. Kayla Soirez of Erath, Brennan Soirez, Jenna Soirez, Taylor Langlinais, Paige Langlinais, Brooke Langlinais and Blair Langlinais; Patra Daugereau, Kayla Chauvin, Skyla Herpin, Mitchell Herpin, seven great grandchildren; one brother, Norvin Langlinais of Erath; and two sisters, Una L. Carlin and Ella Jane Dore both of Erath; He was preceded in death by his wife Robella LeBlanc Langlinais; his parents Remus Langlinais Jr. and Elida Broussard Langlinais; a brother, Wilfred Langlinais; and two sisters, Enila LeBlanc and Willa Mae Dartez.
