Paula Romero Oubre

She died Tuesday October 20, 2009 at 4:59PM in a local hospital. Paula was born and raised in Breaux Bridge and moved to Loreauville when she married Steven TooToo Oubre. She was a nurse at LaSalette Hospital for many years and Florence Nightingale to many. She was awarded the Outstanding Citizens Award in 1976. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Loreauville and also attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Glenn Oubre and wife Julie of New Iberia, Steve Oubre, Jr. and wife Sarah of Lafayette and Sylvia Shrigley and husband Gary of Monarch Beach, California; her sister, Mary Ann Romero Pierce of Sedona, Arizona and her grandchildren, Troy, Trent and Parker Oubre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven J. Oubre, Sr.; parents, Paul and Amelie Thibodeau; five brothers, Percy, Lynn, Paul, Newton and Claude Romero and three sisters, Mary Jane LeBlanc, Genevieve Richard and Thelma Dailey.

Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn, Steven Jr., Troy, Trent and Parker Oubre and Gary Shrigley.
