Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Milton LaFont, the former Rita Dooley, 78, on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jody Simoneaud officiating. Entombment will follow in St. John Mausoleum. Visitation will begin on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM. A native of Patoutville and longtime resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. LaFont died on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 12:15 PM in a New Iberia hospital. She loved going to the casino and bowled for about 30 years. She is survived by her son, Rodney LaFont, Sr. and his friend Vanessa; her grandsons, Rodney LaFont, Jr. and Ryan LaFont and his fiancee Ashley; her great grandsons, Skyler and Ramsey LaFont all of Jeanerette and her sisters, Ethel Fults of Bridge City, TX, Judy Dooley and Shirley Landry both of New Iberia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton LaFont; her parents, Dewey and Elvonia Lancon Dooley and her brother, Stanley Dooley. Pallbearers will be her family members. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337 276-5151) is in charge of arrangements.
