Mrs. Hebert, a native of Milton, and a resident of Lafayette, passed away at 4:50 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at a local Lafayette hospital. Mrs. Hebert was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved Cajun music and dancing; and enjoyed researching genealogy and history, and enjoyed reading, family and traveling.
She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Nowell of Lafayette, and Michael W. Nowell of Breaux Bridge; five daughters, Rebecca N. Comeaux of Breaux Bridge, Pauline Nowell of Lafayette, Myra N. Mouton of Lafayette, Judy Hines of Laurel, Misssissippi and Rebecca June Pennington of Duson; two step-daughters, Cindy Hebert and Tonya Hunter both of North Carolina; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and one sponsored child, Alisha of Chile.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, McIlwain Nowell; her second husband, Earl James EJ Hebert; her parents, Etude and Hortense Broussard Prejean David.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert E. Nowell, Robert R. Nowell, Michael W. Nowell, Michael J. Nowell, Ryan Pastor, and Kody Courville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Clo Comeaux, Ethan Ballou, and Mason Courville.
David Funeral home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway, (337) 837-9887, will be handling the arrangements.
