Karl James Broussard

Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Karl James Broussard, 54, will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, January 2, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville. Father Jason Mouton will be officiating. Readers for the Mass will be Emily Broussard and Dana Clay. Gift bearers will be Aurelia B. Clay and Rachel B. Mayers. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 9:00AM until time of services with a Rosary being recited at 10:30AM by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Rosary Group from St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Anne Mausoleum in Youngsville.
A native and long life resident of Lafayette, Mr. Broussard died on Monday, December 29, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was retired after being employed by Southern Natural Gas as a Measurement Technician. He was beloved by his family. He was a loving father, brother and friend.
Survivors include his daughter, Rachel B. Mayers of Lafayette; one sister, Aurelia Clay her husband, Bill of Lafayette; his former wife and friend, Angela R. Broussard of Lafayette; and several other family members, John and Eva Bridges, Joshua Folse, Ramona and Jessica Bates, Joania Broussard, Amanda and Jamie Kilpatrick, William and Jonah Kilpatrick, Emily and Adam Broussard, and Dana and Andrew Clay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector Eloi and Mildred Pellerin Broussard; one son, Christopher Lee Roberts; his brother, Francis Wayne Broussard; his aunts and uncles, the children of the Eloi Broussard Family.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Folse, Adam Broussard, David Pellerin, Jerrel J. Castille, Miles Martin, and Ronny Alleman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Clay, Bart Boudreaux, and John Bridges.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Mwatibo, the nurses of five east at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and Heart of Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made to Heart of Hospice, 101 Park West Drive, Suite B, Scott, LA 70583.
