Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2007, Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville for Hazel Romero Thibodeaux, age 79 who died Friday, September 14, 2007 at 12:20 a.m. at Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro.
Interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery near her daughter, Brenda Tauzin Jeoffroy and many family members in Youngsville.
The Rev. Jason Mouton, will conduct the funeral services. Vocalist, Jodi Bollich, will sing for the services.
Readers during mass will be Terry & Renee Thibodeaux.
She is survived by a brother Paul Romero, two sisters Rita Broussard, and Louella Comeaux, all of New Iberia; a daughter Debbie Tauzin Uhlar and husband Randall of Roswell, Georgia, Timothy Tauzin and wife Denise of Lafayette, Terry Thibodeaux and wife Renee of Carencro; grandchildren, Jeannie Blanchard of Broussard, Michelle Courvelle of Opelousas, Maggie Uhlar of Roswell, GA, Ross Uhlar of Roswell, GA, Bryan Thibodeaux of Carencro and Tannor Tauzin of Lafayette; great grandchildren, Ashley Beth Courvelle LeMoine of Opelousas, Courtney Blanchard of Broussard, Nicholas Courvelle of Opelousas, Parker Blanchard of Broussard; great-great grandchildren, William, Breanne, and Jayme LeMoine all of Opelousas.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Tauzin Jeoffroy, son, Donnie Tauzin; husbands Joseph Justin Tauzin and Preston J. Thibodeaux; brothers, Wilbert Romero, Chester Romero, Wilson Romero and sister, Lillian Romero.
She will always be remembered as a loving, caring and nuturing mother, wife and grandmother, who adored her family and friends. She will be missed immensely.
She was born in Coteau and was a resident of Youngsville for 25 years. She raised her children in Lafayette.
A rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 p.m., in the David Funeral Chapel at 316 Youngsville Hwy.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Monday and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday.
Pallbearers are her sons Timothy Tauzin and Terry Thibodeaux, son-in-law, Randall Uhlar, Craig Blanchard, John Courvelle, Nicholas Courvelle.
