Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Rose Mary Molbert Girouard, who died at Lafayette General Medical Center, age 78, will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard with Father Louis Richard, Father Floyd Calais and Deacon Joe Trahan officiating. Organist will be Pat Melancon, vocalist will be Margaret Muntz and Karen Melancon, with Mr. Benoit on the violin.

Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Broussard, Louisiana.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00PM on Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 8:00AM until service time.

Mrs. Rose Mary was the founder of Ton's, which was established in 1963. She ran the establishment until her retirement in the year 2003.

Mrs. Rose Mary is survived by her son Karl Girouard and his wife Juanita Girouard of Broussard and her daughter Yvette Girouard also of Broussard; granddaughters, Tammy Comeaux and her husband Chad of Youngsville, Tessie Link and her husband Kyle Goudeau, Holly Gargano and her husband John of Lafayette; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Bernadette Link and Emily Rose Link of Goudeau and Bethany Comeaux of Youngsville; great-grandsons, Weston (T-Ton) Link and Clayton Thomas Link of Goudeau; Brother, Anthony Molbert of Parks; sisters, Joyce Theriot Of Breaux Bridge and Vivian Castille and her husband Michael of Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alton Girouard; her parents, Chet and Rose Hebert Molbert; brothers Darrel, Allen, and Lee Roy Molbert; sisters, Mary Joyce and Lillian Molbert.

A member of the Ladies Altar Society and an Officer of PTA, who never refused , always willing to help, whether it was in the kitchen cooking or outside at the cake booth. She often told the story of The old Gym had new floors . We asked Father Kemps if we could have a benefit dance for the PTA. He said no, then he said yes only if we would wax the new floors. Isabelle Reaux, Francis Frey Dugas, Iris LeBlanc and I got on our hands and waxed the old gym Floor. We had our dance and made beaucoup money.

She was a wonderful Mother, unbelievable grandmother and a unique woman who had many names. She was MawMaw to her grandchildren, Mrs. Rose to employees and Mama G to 30 years of Lady Cajuns and LSU Tiger softball players.

She was a loving wife to Alton Girouard for 57 years. Rose Mary and Ton enjoyed their children and their grandchildren to the fullest. A pioneer for her day she was a great business woman who treated the public and employees with kindness. Her tremendous culinary skills will be missed by everyone who ever enjoyed her cooking.

Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone in softball parks around the country will miss this loving woman who always had a conversation for everyone.

Pallbearers will be Karl Girouard, Kyle Link, Chad Comeaux, Steve Molbert, John Gargano, R.J. Pesson, John Molbert, Pat Molbert and Neil Reaux.
