Ethel Deroche Walker

Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the Chapel.

A native of Marrero and a resident of New Iberia for many years, Mrs. Walker died at 7:30 PM Saturday, September 29, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Walker was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Schultz and husband Tim, and Cindy Arabie; five sons, Bobby Boffone and wife Susan, Harold Walker Jr. and wife Tam, Michael Walker and wife Shawne, Brian Walker, all of New Iberia, and James Walker and wife Doris of Woodlawn, Tennessee; grandchildren, Daryl Alford and wife Liz, Deidra Menard and husband Darryl, Dawn Sellers and husband Kevin, Dana Lovell and husband Mack, Daric Alford, Joni Arabie, Ren Arabie, Harley Arabie, Tammy Dugas and husband Gene, Bobby Boffone Jr. and fiance Barbara Stiles, Josh Jordan, Shane Walker, Brian Richard, Nicole Hines and husband Kendell, Jason Walker, Adrian Walker and wife Kim, Matthew Walker, Cory Walker, Crystal Walker and fiance Seth Touchet, Christopher Walker and fiance Amanda Gros, and Courtney Walker; step-grandmother to Dusty Moss and Dwayne Vincent; 19 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lois Costa, Linda Champagne and Carolyn Gaspar, all of Marrero.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Walker Sr.; and parents, Walter and Ethel Bowers DeRoche.

Pallbearers will be Cory Walker, Christopher Walker, Ren Arabie, Adrian Walker, Shane Walker, Josh Jordan, Bobby Boffone Jr. and Seth Touchet.

The family would like to thank the nurses of Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Robert Hankenhof and all the doctors that took care of our mother.
