Loreauville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Lennet Pop Berard, 82, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Loreauville on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 beginning at 2:00PM and will remain open all night until the time of the services, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mr. Berard a native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Loreauville died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 10:02AM in Loreauville. He was a structural fitter for over 38 years having worked for McDermott, Avondale Shipyard, Red Fox, OBI, Process Facilities and numerous other companies at the port before retiring. He was known for his love of many different animals which lately was his horses and goats.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Willa Hebert Berard of Loreauville; his only son, Dennis Frog Berard of Loreauville; a daughter, Denise B. Morvant and her husband Clince of Loreauville; his twin brother, Allen Berard of Coteau Holmes; three sisters, Agnes Ca B. Romero of Loreauville, Ethel Laperouse of St. Martinville, and Vivian Landry of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Alyson Toups of Houston, TX, Tracie Hebert of Houma, Vanessa Trosclair of Houma, Ronald Bo Toups, Jr. of Houston, TX, Crystal Courville, Tanya Viator, Justin Boudreaux, and Kristopher Singleton all of Loreauville; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Agnes Blanchard Berard; two daughters, Nonna Berard and Irene Singleton; two brothers, Albert Boolou Berard and Linden Berard; and two sisters, Irene Boudreaux and Louda Faucheau.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of the family and friends.

David Funeral Home of Loreauville will be handling the services.
