Derouen, 79, Monday November 2, 2009 at 6:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon George Sikes officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. Visiting hours will be Monday November 2, 2009 from 2:00 PM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Monday November 2, 2009 at 4:00 PM Mr. Derouen passed away Saturday October 31, 2009 at 9:30 AM in a Baton Rouge Hospital. Mr. Derouen was a native of Perry, La. a former resident of New Iberia and a resident of Baton Rouge at the time of his death. He was a retired machinist in the oil industry. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. While living in New Iberia he was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Mr. Derouen is survived by his wife, Velma Comeaux Derouen of Baton Rouge; his daughter, Lucille Mae Derouen of Baton Rouge; his son, Michael Derouen of New Iberia; his sister, Odella Derouen Frederick of Vinton; his grandchildren, Bradley Derouen and his wife Robin of Toledo Bend, and Nicholas Derouen and his wife Dawn of New Iberia; his great grandchildren, Shay Brazil of Toledo Bend, Ethan Derouen of Toledo Bend, Patience Derouen of Toledo Bend, Bryce Derouen and Braxton Derouen both of New Iberia. Mr. Derouen is preceded in death by his parents, Alcide Derouen and Lydia Mayard Derouen; his brothers, Lovelace Derouen, Eddie Derouen, Willis Derouen, Edmond Derouen, James Derouen and Jules Derouen; his sisters, Roberta Vaughn, Wilda Moreaux, and Oneida Derouen. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Derouen, Nicholas Derouen, Brad Derouen, and Larry Derouen. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Richard Tauzin and all of Mr. Derouen's nieces who loved him so much.
