Dolores Choate Snead

Erath " Grave Side Services for Mrs. Dolores Choate Snead, 70, will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00AM, at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery in Abbeville with Deacon David Vaughn officiating. Mrs. Snead, a native of Abbeville, and a resident of Erath, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at a local Lafayette Hospital. Mrs. Snead was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her dogs, and decorating her house. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Gavin and Darby Jordan of Erath; one son, Edward Gavin of Erath; three sisters, Kathryn Menard and Tessie Stephens of Erath, and Elaine Champagne of New Iberia; four brothers, George Choate of Abbeville, Edgar Deerborne of Texas, Gerard Sellers of New Orleans, and Paul Sellers of Cameron; twelve grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Choate and Ophelia White Menard; one son, Leo Joseph Gavin, II; one sister, Flo Milsted, and two grandchildren, Kyle Snead and Scott Wilson.
