Dr. Harold G. Gonsoulin

October 27, 1920 — January 16, 2009

Jeanerette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Dr. Harold G. Gonsoulin, Age 88, at 1:00PM Monday, January 19, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jeanerette with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. There will be no visitation or Rosary, before the Mass. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Dr. Gonsoulin graduated from the LSU school of Medicine. He enjoyed traveling and caring for his livestock. He also loved antique vehicles. His greatest love was caring for his many patients over his 50 years in practice. Many thanks to, Mrs. Martha Vilo, Rose Watson, Dr. Clyde Roy, Dr. Stephen Boudreaux and Home Instead Care. Survivors include, friend and caretaker, Jolie LeJeune Myers of Jeanerette; a sister-in-law, Violet Gonsoulin of Duncan, Oklahoma , a brother-in-law; Edward S. Miller III of Jeanerette and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. Gonsoulin and Mathilde Bienvenu Gonsoulin; one brother, Joseph F. Gonsoulin Jr.; his three sisters, Gloria Gonsoulin Bishop, Elodie Gonsoulin and Mary Ann Gonsoulin Miller and his brother-in-law, Donald J. Bishop, Sr. Pallbearers will be Jacque Larroque, Mike Smith, Don Bishop, Jr., Jeb Miller, John Bishop and Bret Bishop. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Thibeaux, Michael Pugh, Sr., Edward S.
