Raymond Badeaux

Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Lafayette, Mr. Badeaux died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:45 AM in a Lafayette nursing home. He served in the Louisiana National Guard. He loved woodworking, gardening and was an avid bowler. He was a member of the New Iberia Mens Bowling Association. He was a machanist at Voorhies Machine Shop for 32 years and then at Jeanerette Sugar Co-op for 15 years. He was a devoted Roman Catholic and a loving husband and caring father whose family came second only to his faith.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Couvillier Badeaux of Lafayette; his daughter, Tracie Badeaux of Lafayette; his sons, Trevis R. Badeaux and his wife Jenny of Lafayette and Troy Badeaux of New Iberia; his sisters, Gloria Badeaux Bourgeois and Barbara Badeaux Cartimiglia and her husband Samuel all of New Iberia; his brother, Billy Badeaux and his wife Cathy of Erath; his granddaughter, Lyrical Badeaux of New Iberia; his grandsons, Bryan Badeaux, Tristan Badeaux both of New Iberia, Zachary Badeaux and Isaac Badeaux both of Lafayette; his brother-in-law, Everette VanDuzee of New Iberia; his dearest cousin and best friend, Allen Badeaux of New Iberia; his best friends, Shelly and Julia Meaux of New Iberia; his friend Patsy Stoutes of New Iberia; his longtime caregivers, Femaca Huntsberry and Elaine Hawkins and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Pierre Pete Badeaux and Levie Boutte Badeaux; his sister, Inez Badeaux VanDuzee; his brother-in-law, Melvin Moot Bourgeois; his nieces, Donna Cartimiglia and Katie VanDuzee; his nephew, Daniel Bourgeois, Sr. and his friend Antoine Tony Dugas.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bourgeois, Ricky Bourgeois, Allen Badeaux, Philip Cartimiglia, Sammy Cartimiglia and Shelly Meaux.
