Melvin Joseph Frederick

March 23, 1934 — November 7, 2009

Abbeville " Graveside Services for Melvin Joseph Frederick, 75, will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Paul Cemetery with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Mr. Frederick at native of Abbeville and a resident of Erath died at 5:00PM on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at his residence. He was employed at Lake Dredging and Towing for many years, then he was employed by and retired from Kengo Inc. after over 10 years of service. He also proudly served his country in the US Army. He is survived by two daughters, Tammy F. LeBlanc of Kinder and Annie M. Frederick of Erath; two sons, Tommy Frederick of Perry and Richard Frederick of Erath; a step son, Roland Joseph Hebert of Jeanerette; three step daughters, Joyce Ann Bourque of Lafayette, Frances Hebert of Kaplan, and Betty Hebert of Thibodeaux; a sister, Felma Toups of Crowley; twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, forty-four step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Thibodeaux Frederick; his parents, Israel Frederick and Anna Boudreaux Broussard; two step sons, Frank Hebert and Ferdnand Hebert; and two brothers, Durphy Suire and Murphy Suire. Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Duhon, Timothy Duhon, Teddy Duhon, Warner Frederick, Shane Marceaux, Gerald Bourgeois, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Frederick.
