Broussard " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Lester Louis Landry, 70, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, February 1, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette, with Fr. Richard Fabre officiating. Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 31, 20l0 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette from 10:00AM until 9:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 8:00AM until the time of the Service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A native of Youngsville, and a resident of Broussard, Mr. Landry passed away at 9:50PM on Friday, January 29, 2010 at a Lafayette hospital. Mr. Lester was a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and brother who dearly loved spending time with his family and friends. Lester loved fishing, hunting, and many other outdoor activities; and enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator. He also enjoyed life and lived life to its fullest, and his favorite saying was I try anything once . He is survived by his wife, Myra Authement Landry of Broussard; two daughters, Becky Dischler of Rayne and Donna Harrison of Katy, Texas; step-daughter, Tricia Freeman of Lafayette; step-son, Boo Freeman of Lafayette; four brothers, Gerald Killer Landry, Roland Landry, Raoul Landry and Roy Landry of Youngsville; three sisters, Sylvia Hill and Leona Corley of Houston, Texas and Odette Stakes of Carencro; three grandchildren, Christopher Harrison, Adam Broussard, and Cory Harrison; and three step-grandchildren, Ben Harrison, Darren Harrison, and Asa Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Nella Fabre Landry, a sister, Geraldine Landry LeBlanc, and his first wife, Lucille Verret Landry. Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Landry, Roy Landry, Raoul Landry, Adam Broussard, Christopher Harrison, and Cory Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Landry, and Prentiss Boo Freeman, IV. In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations can be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
