Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Eugene Paul Broussard, 72, will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Herb Bennerfeld officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath beginning on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00PM until 9:00PM with the recitation of the rosary by the Catholic Daughter at 6:00PM and the Knights of Columbus at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 15, 2009 from 10:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native and resident of Erath, Mr. Broussard passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 3:05AM at his residence. Mr. Broussard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family. Mr. Eugene was a self employed retired painter. Mr. Broussard served his country in the Army National Guard from 1958 to 1962. Survivors include his wife, Joan Meaux Broussard of Erath; two children, Randy Paul Broussard and his wife Sherry of Iota, and Jennifer Teekell and her husband Ken of Erath; three sisters, Earline B. Baudoin, Gussie B. Landry and Ussay B. Toups of Erath; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Lore Trahan Broussard. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all nurses with Southern Care Hospice who helped with the care of Mr. Broussard.
