New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Earl J. Semar, the former, Mildred Dugas, age 88, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Donovan Labbe officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM.Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until time of service.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Semar passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 7:00AM at her residence. Mrs. Semar was a member of Jesus Is Alive prayer group at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. She loved fishing and enjoyed watching birds.
Survivors include her son, Barry Semar and wife Dolores of Cypermort Point; daughters, Sandra Legnon and husband Richard of Cypermort Point; Linda Prince and husband Lance of Loreauville; her grandchildren, April Broussard of Lydia; Nicole Semar of Coteau; Kimberly Semar of Lydia; Devin Legnon of New Iberia; Darla Louviere of New Iberia; Brad Legnon of New Iberia; Michelle Morgan of Loreauville; Vickie Lancon of Loreauville; Todd Semar of Lydia and Kelley Ackal of Youngsville.
Mrs. Semar was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Semar, her son, Robert Joseph Semar, her parents, Husville and Lorena Crochet Dugas, her grandson, Scott Semar, and her great-great grandchild, Reese Morgan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Leo Laviolette, Devin Legnon, Todd Semar, Jeremy Lancon, Leroy Semar and Eldridge Thibodeaux.
The family extends a special thanks to her caregiver, Michelle Morgan as well as Dr. Vena Baker, Heart of Hospice and all the medical personnel during Mrs. Semars time of need.
