New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Wilbert J. Gary, Age 86, at 2:00PM Tuesday January 19, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Donald Pelous officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00AM until service time. A native of Iberia Parish and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gary was married to the former Melba Boudreaux for the past 63 wonderful years. He was retired from Waukesha Pearce as a sales representative after 32 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. Mr. Gary enjoyed traveling, playing golf and working in his yard. Survivors include his wife, Melba Boudreaux Gary of New Iberia; children; Lenny Gary and wife Denise of Houston, Tx. and Jan Gary and wife Darlene of Worcester, Mass.; grandchildren, Shanie Lipari of New Iberia, Kristin Malone of Houston, Texas, Jesse Gary of Arlington, Va., Joel Gary of Houston, Tx. and Danielle Gary of Worcester, Mass.; great grandchildren, Caroline and Hayes Lipari and Trinity and Hayden Malone; one brother, Doris Gary of Lafayette; sisters, Annie Mae Maturin New Iberia, Nelwin Vaughn of Loreauville and Leah Romero of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Edora Comeaux Gary; sisters, Thelma Barbier and Ada Boutte and a grandson, Timothy Gary.
