Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert Bob Charles Landry, Sr. will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at St. Annes Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM and will resume Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 8:00AM until services. Recitation of the Rosary will be Tuesday, January 19, 2020 at 7:30PM with Fr. Landry. Interment will follow at St. Annes Cemetery. Mr. Landry, a native of Youngsville and resident of Lafayette died at 11:18AM Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Lafayette General Hospital. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grand father. At the age of 15 he started working for his uncle, the founder of Poor Boys Riverside Inn. He left that employment and enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II. He loved his country and was proud of the time he served. Upon his return to Lafayette he returned to Poor Boys until 1968 where he left and went to work for the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs office as Captain. After retiring from the Sheriffs office he concentrated on his family, farm and cattle. He had a big heart and true love for others. Always ready to lend a helping hand. His happiest moments were spent with his family and companion, who he loved dearly. He is survived by his four grandchildren; Heather Landry Young, Jill Sonnier Hernandez, Scott Nicholas Landry and Joshua Beau Sonnier, nine great- grandchildren; Baylee, Lydia Ruth and Isaac Young, Zoe, Ashlyn and Sarah Hernandez, Austin, Oren and Wyatt Landry. His loving companion; Lucy Menard of Youngsville; a sister; Anna Lee Landry Hebert; niece, Diana Borel Viator, extended family member Monica Domingue, daughter Pamela Ann Landry Sonnier and son in law Theo Sonnier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine Shoot Landry and Zoey Landglinais Landry, his wife; Ann Borel Landry, son and daughter-in-law; Robert Charles Landry, Jr. and Starrlyn Bates Landry. Pallbearers will be Scott Landry, Ward Young, Brady Hernandez, Peter Viator,D. Matt Borel and Shannon Menard. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Menard, Capt. Hillard Trahan and Kenneth Talbet.
