Monique Arceneaux Sonnier

Abbeville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. John C. Sonnier, the former Monique Arceneaux, 41, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church of Erath with Fr. Manny Fernandez officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, February 6, 2010, beginning at 8:00AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. A native and resident of Erath, Mrs. Sonnier passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2:53PM in a Lafayette Hospital. Monique was the proud and devoted mother of five children and successful business woman with an unending faith in God. Because of her strong faith and giving heart she taught religion, and was always concerned about others, and willing to give and help those in need. She was also a pillow of faith to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family on vacations and going to the camp at the bay. Monique held a B. S. in Physical Therapy; owned and operated Vermilion Physical Therapy; and was a member of American Physical Therapy Association and Louisiana Physical Therapy Association. She was also a member of Junior Auxiliary of which she was a past president. She was survived by her husband John Sonnier of Erath; her father, Joseph Keith Arceneaux and his wife Jonara of Delcambre; her mother Katherine Simon Hotard and her husband Brian of Erath; three daughters, Brittlyn M. Sonnier, Catherine G. Sonnier and Lauren C. Sonnier, all of Erath; two sons, Andre J. Sonnier and Jordan M. Sonnier, both of Erath; her sister, Charise A. Bergeron and her husband Jason of Erath; her maternal grandparents, Rodney Simon and Lorraine Domingue Simon of Erath; and her godchildren, Alex Bergeron and Nick Bergeron. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Emick Arceneaux and Emilda Dugas Arceneaux; her infant child, Taylor Rene Sonnier; and a cousin, Tyler S. Arceneaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Sellers, Blair Sellers, Minos Sellers, Chris LeMaire, A.J. Arceneaux and Aaron Arceneaux. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Holmes and Todd Rodrigue. David Funeral Home of Abbeville, 2600 Charity St., (337) 893-3777, will be handling the arrangements.
